Moral policing; right of a religious group or religious fanaticism

What does the incident of a Hindu group beating up collage students, molesting girls in the pub in mangalore indicate? Is it moral policing, protection of culture or as is being said in the news channels is it talibanization of India.why are so many incidents of cultural and religious intolerance happening in India?

If one really looks closely at these incidents the answers are there for every one to see. The media is blaming the political parties for these incidents which for some degree is justified. But they are not highlighting the root cause of these incidents: Lack of understanding the values for which ones own religion stands for which is leading to growing bigotry towards others customs in the world today.

It is indeed ironical that India which has been a melting pot of various religions and cultures in the world is witnessing such incidents. Especially I find it amusing that the people who are carrying out these heinous crimes claim that they are doing it to protect Hinduism. The truth of the matter is that these people don't even know for what values hinduism stands for.

Hinduism is one religion in which all the religions are imbibed. Just as a string holds all the flowers in the garland together; Hinduism is one thread that makes a garland of all the religions. This is the religion which has always stood for acceptance, for peace and love. It is high time that people realize that by chanting the name of ram and by beating up people one is doing only disservice and not service to the religion.

If at all one wants to show the greatness of religion, one should show it by proper means; one needs to extol the values for which the religion stands for. I feel that religion is the banana skin while the values are the real banana. Today we are throwing the banana and hanging on to banana skin which is useless.

Every religion in the world preaches love. Every religion has some good points and few controversial points. if one hangs on to controversial points the fanaticism will increase in the world and this is what is happening today. It is high time that the people who understand religion come out and condemn crimes carried out in the name of religion.

It is time for non violence to make some noise so that the people will know that negetive qualities like anger and violence are not something that one should be proud of but they are qualities that one should be ashamed of.

It is time for people to realize that if you really want to change anything you can only do it through love and not by force!!!!!
